Friendly reminder: you're in charge
So what do you want to do?
Here's what we can't forget: we're in charge.
One unexpected gift of stepping into a new business name has been the reminder that we’re allowed to choose. Choosing a name that better reflects the work I do today felt clarifying—and quietly empowering. It reinforced something I often share with leaders: you are in charge of how you show up, what you stand for, and how you want to lead.
No, we're not in charge of everything - but we ARE in charge of ourselves.
As the year unfolds, this may be a helpful moment to pause and self-assess—with curiosity and compassion.
For you as a leader:
What do I want to be known for in this season of my work?
Where have my leadership, values, or commitments to sustainability evolved—and where might my identity need to catch up?
What am I continuing out of habit rather than intention?
If I made one small adjustment to better reflect who I am now, what would it be?
For your team:
What does my team need more of from me right now—clarity, direction, space, or support?
Where are expectations clear, and where might they need to be recalibrated?
Whose growth am I intentionally developing this year? How?
What one change in how we work together could most improve engagement or performance?
You don’t need a rebrand to realign—sometimes clarity begins with simply naming what’s true.
If these reflections resonate and you’d like a thought partner, feel free to comment or reach out. I’m always glad to talk with leaders who are thoughtfully shaping how they lead and the impact they want to have.
To all we can choose for ourselves,
